Meditation

Search my heart, God. Show me my sins and shortcomings. Wash my mind
clean of all my sinful thoughts. Forgive me, Lord, for my wicked ways. Let the
fiery coal of Your Spirit touch my lips. Teach me to speak words that bring
life and hope, not pain and sorrow.

Lord, rescue me from my selfish and foolish choices. Set me free to love you
and to praise you with all my heart. Rescue me from all the things that have
hurt me. Sometimes it’s hard to cope with the pain, and it’s hard to love the
people that have hurt and used me. But Lord I choose to forgive those who
have hurt me, just as you have forgiven me when I have hurt you. I offer my
pain to you and ask you to take it. Send your healing love into my heart. By
faith I receive your love and comfort into my life.

Lord I give you my hopes for the future; all that I am and ever will be. I trust
you with my life. I want to be used by you to be a blessing to others. Put a
new love in me for the people in my world. Show me how to truly care and
reach out to those who are in need. Teach me to search for those that are
lost and show them your love. Teach me how to proclaim the good news of
salvation. Give me a passion for the lost, for those who sit in darkness, and
have not seen the light of your love. Use me to search for the lost and to help
rescue them from the devil’s clutches.

From Psalms 139:23-24  Search me oh God and know my heart, test me and know my anxious
thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me to the way of everlasting.
Monday through Friday, all the men come to
morning devotions at 6am. They all recite these
two scripturally based readings every morning.

Eight Principles to Live By
GOD HEALS

#1   GET HELP
I admit that I am powerless on my own, and that I need help.
#2   OPEN YOUR HEART
I know that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that
He is the only one who has the power to heal my pain.
#3   DEPEND ON CHRIST
I realize I need to turn my life over to Christ. I need to depend on Him
in all areas of my life, including all that I say, think, and do.
#4   HEAR AND SPEAK
I agree to evaluate my life and confess my faults to myself,
to God, and to someone that I trust.
#5   EMBRACE GOD’S WAY
I will stop doing things my way and put my life on
the path that leads toward God’s way.
#6   ASK FOR FORGIVENESS
I will offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me, and I will ask
for forgiveness for any wrong I have done to others.
#7   LIVE FOR GOD
I will set aside some time for God each day to examine my life,
read my Bible, and pray so that I have the power to live God’s way.
#8   SUPPORT OTHERS
I will take the message that God heals to others in need
and share it by my words and actions.
The eight principles are
what we use instead of the
well known 12 steps.
Group meetings are held
every Friday.
Our "higher power" is
Jesus Christ.
