What is the Center of Hope?
The Center of Hope is a residential Christian
discipleship recovery program in Clearwater,
Florida. It's based on other great programs
with years of success, such as
Teen
Challenge and Dunklin Memorial Camp. We
are also affiliated with the
LA Dream Center
(Los Angeles CA), the
St. Pete Dream
Center (St. Petersburg FL), and with Dream
Center International. The primary focus of
this ministry is bringing people closer to God
and, by doing so, helping them to resolve
problems in their lives which have brought
them here seeking help.
Addiction Has No Prejudice!
Addiction is an epidemic throughout
the U.S. today and it holds no
boundaries on age, race, gender or
financial standing. We seem to picture
that only homeless people are the
ones affected, but that's not true.
Addiction affects millions of lives, the
individuals and their families, every
day. It steals thousands of lives every
year through automobile accidents as
well as overdoses. Over 90% of the
people in jail or prison are there
because of drugs or alcohol, as a
result of being under the influence,
possession, or crimes to support their
addiction. This epidemic is out of
control.

The Center of Hope is a
501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Those in the 1st phase of the program have
class at 8AM, then work duties and study
time after lunch. They also have personal
study of completing their Biblical
Foundations workbooks. Those in the 2nd
and 3rd phases work a full-time job and pay
a weekly fee for being at the Center. They
also are responsible for completing two
more workbooks. Accountability is
important; all residents sign-out when
leaving the property indicating destination.
A nutritious dinner is served around 5 P.M.
          The Program
Those who wish to enter the program must
commit to the rules of the program. We ask
for a six month commitment, but encourage
residents to stay for a year. For the first 30
days residents are restricted to the property
except for going out with groups.
All residents are responsible for attending
group meetings and church services, doing
appropriate chores and classwork. Upon
graduation we help residents in their move
back into society.
Residents also have an opportunity to attend
Beacon University classes in theology if they
wish.
How is the Program Financed?
Program expenses come to about $23,000
per month. While residents may receive
financial assistance for a few weeks, by
participating in outside counseling or training
programs, the Center is not funded by
government grants. Operating expenses not
covered by what residents pay are met
through donations from churches,
businesses, and individuals; as well as
resident run businesses: Heavenly Suds, Junk
for Jesus, COH Thrift Store, and Tree of Life
Tree Service.
Donations may be in the form of food,
clothing, and vehicles, as well as money.
All donations are tax deductible as the Center
of Hope is a 501(c)3 not-profit organization.
Galatians 2:20  " I have been crucified
with Christ: it is no longer I who live,
but Christ lives in me; and the life
which I now live in the flesh I live
by faith in the Son of God, who
loved me and gave Himself for me."

OUR MISSION
The vision of the Center of Hope is to reach
out to a hurting community with practical
ministries that not only fulfill the needs, but
heal the wounds from the past
, or, in some
cases, the present. We have the mission of
reaching out to the hurting, broken, and
addicted of the Tampa Bay area through
Christian discipleship homes.
               Classes
The classes we provide at the Center of Hope
are life changing if residents choose to apply
them to their lives. Classes include topics
such as inner healing, dealing with broken
relationships, rejection, and forgiveness.
We teach giving back to others and are
required to attend outreaches as well as give
back 60 or more community hours. Pastor
David Tristani of
Dockside Community Church
is involved in counseling, teaching and
outreaches to the community.
Residents have a variety of activities aside
from scheduled responsibilities. Some
volunteer with delivering free food boxes to
families in need (Adopt a Block).
Occasionally we have a fund-raising car
wash or yard sale.
Saturdays are open for personal time and
volunteer work, with the exception of a
church service for those in 1st phase.
On Sunday all residents go to church in the
morning and evening, most often at
Countryside Christian Center.
RESULTS
Over the past four years we have helped over
300 men and women. They have regained
meaningful full time work, being productive
parts of society. Many have been reunited
with families. Two are full time at Beacon Bible
College and three are in full time ministry.
Over 80 people have been baptized.
over 35 years.
JUNK FOR JESUS
We have a metal recycling program that some of the
men are involved in as part of the ministry. They tear
apart old air conditioners, refrigerators, old electric
motors, etc. for copper, aluminum, or steel that can
be used as scrap metal.
Donations are welcome!
